Gotham has been plagued with such villains as the Joker, Catwoman, the Riddler, Penguin, Clayface, and the Mad Hatter, but Batman has fought them all and prevailed. Batman has undergone many changes through the years and in the end, what Batman looks like or how he acts is decided by us, the fans. From the 1940s Serials, the Batman and Detective Comics, the 1966 Batman TV Show, to the movies and animated series of today. Why has this seemingly ordinary superhero been so successful? He has no superpowers--no X-Ray vision, spider sense, or beams that shoot from his eyes..he can't fly. Why? Because he's a human being just like everyone else in this world. We can identify with him, grow as he grows, and today we can still believe in the stories being told. This page is dedicated to Batman throughout the years, some admittingly "campy," some "too dark," but all have a large part in shaping who Batman has become. I hope you enjoy your stay!
