A TOBEY MAGUIRE FAN PAGE!
Updated: 7 MAY 1999
For those of you who cant' read Japanese, the katakana spells out "Tobey Maguire" for Japanese pronunciation.

After a considerable absence from any significant roles in television or in the movies, Tobey Maguire came back in Ang Lee's The Ice Storm, an excellent film in which he co-stars with Christina Ricci, Elijah Wood, Adam Hann-Byrd (oh, and Kevin Kline and Sigourney Weaver and some other adult stars, too), in the Hunter Thompson-inspired Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, and in Woody Allen's Deconstructing Harry. Now, on home video, he is setting the world (or at least one tree) on fire in New Line's Pleasantville. HOWEVER, for those of you who missed Tobey as "Hot Rod Brown" on cable or as "Scott Melrod" in Fox-TV's "Great Scott," we have brought together two classic shots from an episode of "Great Scott" in which one of Scott's fantasies doesn't turn out quite the way he expected. :)
But here are a couple of more "typical" shots from "Great Scott" --
(Both of these last two photos are from Star Galaxy.)
Until further notice, please assume that all photos from "Great Scott" are (c) 1992 by Twentieth-Century Fox and that all rights to them are reserved.
The following is from our 1997 Quick Opinions on Films page:
Ice Storm: A pretty darn good pair of movies, one involving Kevin Kline, Sigourney Weaver, and other adults, and a really good film starring Christina Ricci, Tobey Maguire, Elijah Wood and Adam Hann-Byrd.
We have a (please forgive the pun!) really cool color slide of Tobey from Ice Storm, provided by the studio, but unfortunately, our hardware won't allow us to upload it to this page. Sorry, but we've tried.
One past performance by Tobey which sometimes crops up on television is the film Spoils of War. Tobey also appeared in one of our favorite films, Empire Records. The best source of information on Tobey's (or just about anybody's) film or TeeVee career is, of course, the Internet Movie Data Base.
What's up with Don's Plum?
We now have a whole, illustrated page dedicated to Don's Plum, the controversial film which stars Tobey and Leonardo Di Caprio. Check it out for the latest news. (5 May 1999: at least, the most recent news we could find!)
