The Ed Harris Photo Gallery - STEPMOM

Well, guess what you'll find here - pics from Ed's latest film, STEPMOM. All photos are copyright Sony (Columbia Pictures).

Way to start with the end of the film (you'd understand if you saw the movie). Anyhow, here's Ed, who plays Luke Harrison, the man semi-torn between Julia Roberts (Isabel) and Susan Sarandon (Jackie). Seated beside him is Jena Malone, who plays Anna, the daughter of Jackie and Luke. |
So here is Ed and the cutest part of the movie - Liam Aiken, who plays Anna's brother, Ben. He pretty much has the best lines and adds the most humor to the movie. Did I mention somewhere that STEPMOM is NOT a comedy!? |
Here's Ed looking somewhat stern. This scene occurs early on, when Isabel and Luke have a little argument over whether or not Luke trusts her with his kids. He trusts her, all right - too bad the kids hate her! |
No, Jackie and Luke do not get back together, even though this scene sort of suggest otherwise. Here both characters (who still get along remarkably well despite being divorced) decide to confide the truth about a "secret" to one another. However Luke is the only person who actually tells his "secret" - that he plans to marry Isabel. Stunned by the news, Jackie doesn't have the heart to admit her "secret" to Luke. |
One of the most remarkable things about this movie is how painfully direct it can be at times. I've seen some reviews where the writer basically said, "This movie sugarcoats everything," which makes me wonder - did the person even WATCH the movie?! I mean, there are a lot of things here that maybe don't need to be said and yet they are. In this scene, Anna asks Luke if he has fallen out of love with Jackie...and he actually admits that he has! Of course he tries to ease the blow by saying that his love has "changed," but still... Maybe if we were all this direct we would understand each other better. Or not. |
Here's a nice shot of Julia Roberts and Ed sitting together. Too bad whatever this scene went along with was cut out of the movie! |
