Impressively glossy yarn, an adaptation from Lorenzo Carcaterra's
controversial, best-selling book is supposed to be based on
real life incidents; becomes predictable halfway through and squanders much of its
early promise. Larger than life portrayal kills authenticity but is thoroughly
entertaining.
