The only real love song on the album, 'Head Over Feet' seems totally sincere and and yet eschews all the usual cheesy pop phraseology. "You're the best listener that I've ever met," she sings to her mysterious lover. "You're my best friend, best friend with benefits. What took me so long?" The melody and drum programming are simple, creating a skipping, happy song that supports Alanis' on-top-of-the-world lyrics, which conclude with "I am aware now , I am aware now." It's a great way to express that feeling of falling in love and suddenly having your eyes opened to a world that is much more vivid and thrilling than you realized. If nothing else, 'Head Over Feet' shows that Alanis has shrugged off all her hangups, for the time being at least.
Insiders say that Alanis has been dating Christian Lane, lead singer of her opening band Loud Lucy and former beau of Veruca Salt's Louise Post
(I hope you all know that, if you didn't you do now)
