Western Pa is a very quixotic radio-TV market where the major radio/tv media center is obviously Pittsburgh,but the secondary markets include Erie,Youngstown, Johnstown-Altoona-State College,Clarksburg-Weston-Morgantown,and Wheeling-Steubenville. WQEX-TV 16 Pittsburgh (17th) Younger skewing,psuedo indie PBS station in the area.The station is expected to simulcast WQED-TV as of Nov.1st,paving the way for the frequency swap with WPCB-TV
WNPA-TV 19 Jeanette/Pittsburgh(92nd) Former WB Network station in the area simulcasts with WBPA-TV 29 Pittsburgh. Expected to pick up the UPN afilliation in 1998. The station had been located in Johnstown,but moved to the Pittsburgh area after not finding an audience in Johnstown.
WFMJ-TV 21 Youngstown(95th) NBC station serving Youngstown-Warren-New Castle,can be picked up in some areas of Pittsburgh
WPTT-TV UPN 22 Pittsburgh (17th) United Paramount Network station currently in Local Marketing Agreement with WPGH-TV In Pittsburgh.Will switch to the WB Network in 1998
