While taking a break during shoots the cast of Week-End With Father decided to have a patato sack race. Van Heflin and Jimmy Hunt were turning around in there sack when Van Heflin fell over onto Jimmy breaking his arm. Jimmy continued filming the role with the broken arm in a special sling.

During the scene where Jimmy Hunt is arguing with the father, at the breakfast table, about how he got the scar on his neck the father turns and slaps Jimmy. If you look really close at this scene you will notice that the hand actually hits Jimmy. During the shoot, Jimmy overstepped his mark and was too close, when the actor turned to slap him he really did hit him. Also, check out the expression on Jimmy when he hits the floor. You will notice the look of amazement, "I actually was hit." The director liked it and kept it in the film.

At the very end of the film, Rusty becomes a father and has puppies, one of which Jimmy gets in the film's ending. Well, as a matter of fact, Jimmy actually got to keep this dog. The studio thought it would be nice. Well it turns out that the dog had a desease and after a little while had to be put to sleep. Thanks for the puppy?!

While being a young child in the acting business at that time, Jimmy attended "The Little Red Schoolhouse," during shoots on schooldays. During this time he attended with many famous actors such as, Gigi Perreau, Roddy McDowall and Elizabeth Taylor. Elizabeth would actually hold him on her lap at times. (Couldn't we all be so lucky!!)

Los Angeles Times on July 13, 1950 reported that, "Jimmy Hunt, child actor, has had more screen parents than any other actor in film-making history, including Clifton Webb, Claudette Colbert, Ruth Hussey, Evelyn Keyes and Ann Sothern. Jimmy has just completed filming "Louisa" and "Saddle-Tramp." He will soon be seen in "Katie" with Ann Blythe and Mark Stevens.

During rehearsal's on Cheaper by the Dozen, Clifton Webb had to spank Jimmy for one of the scenes, but Jimmy states that he spanked him hard and he didn't like it. From then on, Jimmy wanted all rehearsals to be short, "Let's do the shot."

Jimmy had his hair dyed black and his freckles covered with dark make-up to try for the leading role in the film "Ring Around Saturn" by Nassour Studios.
