Storyline #2: Dog Day Afternoon
Since Mike will be out of the office, Stuart gets to be boss again, much as he was in The Apartment. However, this time, he gets to use Stacey as his secretary for the day. At first, Stacey tries to keep Stuart at bay, but after some friendly training tips from Jannelle, Stuart is housebroken and acts in canine fashion for the rest of the day.
Overall, a confusing episode. Not the plot lines persay, but the overall reasoning. First, I must mention that it's about time that we see another episode that is so politically driven. This is, by far, the most political episode since the middle of the first season. And it's on campaign finance reform at that. (Not really, but I can dream.) What gets me however, is the politics involved. Over the last few weeks, there have been outright attempts to label the Mayor and his staff as Democrats. That's all fine well and good, but why is Mike so desparate to get contributions from a gun-toter? I don't care how conservative Mike is or isn't, Democrats hate NRA nuts and they would know who they are before they try to get contributions from them. Sure, it can be said that Mike isn't faced with a moral dilema taking a check from a movie star, but it just doesn't make sense!
The Stuart-Stacey plot was pretty weak. After all, we all know Stuart's a dog anyway; that's his character! Having Stacey train him takes some of the edge off their "relationship" and makes it less fun. I guess they'll do anything to get Jannelle the lines she deserves as a full-time cast member.
I guess, at this point, I should make mention of the Mike-Nikki storyline brewing. My statement is: Yeah, so? I mean, it seems like this has been hinted at longer that Ross & Rachel were on that other show. The tension has been building since the first season, and has only become super-obvious over the past 3 outings. I'd rather not see them together only because the writers would probably treat the relationship just like they did with Ashley, and we all know how well that turned out. Based on all the press releases, this is supposed to be headed somewhere. I only wish they be done with it and get back to being funny.
Oh, and by the way, please stop sending me hate-mail about Corbin being on the show. Apparently, he "alledgedly molested" someone a while back, and now people are writing ME saying they will boycott MY show! For those of you who question my affiliation with the show, (and obvious lack thereof) see the FAQ. (Besides, if I were working for the show, would my web site be this shoddy???
