See the children
in the park
watch them as they play.
Let their happy voices
carry you away.
Carry you to a
world
where hatred is not found.
Where love and understanding
do cheerfully abound.
Where everyone is
accepted
and loved for who they are.
Where who a person is
is more important than what they are.
There is a place
like this
and it’s not that far away.
If only we could live
the way the children play.
To hold on to the
innocence
we had when we were small.
To not give into hatred-
the easiest emotion of all.
To hate someone
is easy,
but to accept and understand
takes the strength of the mighty ocean
and a heart as big as this land.
The journey to
this loving world
must start with you today.
