Many inspirations of Bollywood come from Hollywood. Including Music, Stories for movies, acting, technical effects, etc... The things that aren't inspired from Hollywood is the relationships between characters and the language. Recently many movies have been made as remakes of popular Hollywood films. Three were made as remakes of "Sleeping with the Enemy". The three are: Yaarana (big flop), Agni Sakshi (hit), and Darrar (flop). Another was a copy of "Unlawful Entry"; Fareb was an average hit considering that it was such a low budget movie. It was a hit not because of the film, but mainly because of Jatin-Lalit's melodious music, which was definately not inspired by Hollywood. Coming soon is a remake of "French Kiss" with music incidentally also by Jatin-Lalit. "Pyar To Hona Hi Tha" stars Ajay Devgan and his fiancee Kajol.
Recently, the Hindi music director Anu Malik derived a new Hindi version of the famous "Macarena" by "Los Del Rio" with "Dil Makka Dina" from the movie Dhaal. The movie stars Sunil Shetty.
Bollywood has many great movies, maybe even better than their Hollywood Originals. Some are much worse, maybe a shame to Bollywood's directors. A list of movies and their inspirations follows:
