The future.
A distant planet with two human colonies, founded to create a world far from the wars of Earth. It is a dream that doesn’t last long. The colonies now fight a hundred-year war; their once great cities reduced to rubble. To the north lies the stone walled city of BRECCA. To the south lies the nation of OBSIDIAN, a civilization of black glass cities and mysterious technology.
They war with the remnants of their great technologies, their immense armies reduced to teenagers, fighting and dying for a cause they can’t even remember.
The war must stop -- or an entire generation of children on both sides will perish like their parents before them.
Brecca’s greatest General, MURREN (Dean Cain), plans to use the last of Brecca’s ancient weapons to turn the tide of battle. Called WARHAMMER, it was designed a hundred years ago to cripple Obsidian’s technology, and win the war without firing a shot. Warhammer was forged from a technology more akin to magic than science. Murren intends to assemble a small team, and deliver the weapon to Obsidian himself.
Murren selects his most loyal soldier, Sutherland (Justin Whalen), a noble warrior who follows him without question. He also brings Abel (Jodie Wise), a beautiful woman who is the last master of the ancient weapons. Feared by even her own soldiers, Abel uses her arcane technologies to manipulate energy into a thousand deadly forms. He also selects Evans (Thomas Ian Griffith), a legendary warrior with a mysterious past, whose experience has taught him that peace is an even greater prize than victory.
But as the team fights its way across Brecca’s shattered landscape, it becomes obvious that the war is not what it seems. The great Obsidian enemy they were taught to hate remains unseen, and the team must struggle against their own Breccan people, torn apart by a century of conflict.
If Warhammer was Brecca’s greatest weapon, why wasn’t it used before? Why was the war really started, and by whom? Sutherland must battle his loyalties, and question his own cause. He must face the reality that his own side may be the truly viscous one...
And his heroic General Murren may be a mad and dangerous man, bent on winning this ancient war... at any cost.
Somewhere, looming on the horizon, Obsidian and its secrets await them.
