MURDERING MINDS
I've heard from a number of sources that Roger Troutman has been shot and killed by his brother Larry, who was found dead in a car close by. From what I've heard, it seems like he may have committed suicide after killing Troutman. You may remember RT featured on a number of 2Pac songs including 'California Love' and 'Thug Passion'. May he rest in peace. It seems that Dre still hasn't yet finalised the track listing or guests on his "Chronic 2000" album. The artists who put work in are all kinda tense right now as they wait to see if their contributions will make the final cut. Dre is apparently treating his selection wit' great time and composure and is keeping away from giving anybody special treatment. There's apparently enough material there to fill bout 3 albums so don't be surprised if there's a short delay in its release. Let's jus' hope its as dope as the original!
Sam Sneed is currently working on a track for Aftermath's 'Hitman', with another Aftermath artist named Timebomb. Sam apparently drops dope lines at the beginning' aimed at Death Row, without making it too obvious that he's dising 'em. So after all this time he's decided to get his own back fo the way he was treated there! Sneed has been spending more an more time at Aftermath in recent weeks, sitting alongside J-Flexx in meetings with Dre. I'm not sure what Flexx was doin' there (as he just produced the new YGD track) but it looks likely that Sneed may soon be signing on tha dotted line, to join Dre's roster!
Speaking of Death Row dises, check out this apparent No Limit track, by an artist named Young P, entitled Eat A Dick It's weakly rapped over the notorious 'Bow Down' beat and contains a lot of references to Death Row and their artists. It was found on a No limit bootleg and is currently unreleased. I can't see NL ever releasing it, as its wak in every way. Plus I'm sure they wouldn't wanna start anything with the Row. Maybe that's why it was leaked this way to get at them without starting anything major? Check it out!
I keep hearin' that Daz, Kurupt and Snoop Dogg are teaming up on an attempt to bail out Suge, using a certain amount of each of their album sales capital for funding. I don't know how true any of this is, but it seems that as soon as their current contracts expire, they plan to re-unite on the Row to produce a new compilation. This sounds kinda far-fetched and even made up right now, but I'll put up confirmation if/when I get it.
Vibe are holding a chat session with Eminem on the 6th of May, so if you've got a question you wanna ask, go check it out. You might wanna submit them to Vibe now, to increase your chances of them being asked!
SUGE KNIGHT SUSPECT IN B.I.G. MURDER
Taken from Sonicnet.Com
Los Angeles police said Death Row Records executive Marion "Suge" Knight is now a suspect in the 1997 murder of rapper Notorious B.I.G. On Tuesday (April 20), police searched Death Row office property in Beverly Hills, Calif., and two other sites tied to Knight. They seized a car matching witnesses' descriptions of one used in the shooting, according to Lt. Anthony Alba, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson. Alba said no charges have been filed and police are continuing to investigate. The Los Angeles Times quoted anonymous police sources Tuesday as saying Knight, who has been in prison for a parole violation since November 1996, "took a prominent role" from behind bars in what was described as a murder for hire. Alba confirmed a murder-for-hire plot is one possibility police are investigating.
This whole ordeal is a fuckin' trip in terms of Suge and Death Row. If Suge's found guilty of 'hiring to kill' he'd stay locked up fo years to come, leaving DR to cope without him. If he's found innocent though I don't think he'll mind all the publicity DR is getting right now.
Think about it... The Chronic 2000 is only weeks away from release (first '99 album), and with media coverage like this it's sure to sell a whole lot mo' and put DR back on the map! Jus' remember that 'All Publicity Is Good Publicity' no matter how fucked up it might sound!

Death Row Records Wants Dennis Rodman For Label Position
NBA bad boy Dennis Rodman was released by the Los
Angeles Lakers last Thursday after playing in only 23
games, but he is already fielding an offer to join
another team. The Death Row Records squad, that is.
Death Row has confirmed to MTV that it has tendered
Rodman a position in its Artist Relations department,
and in a statement said that it "would enjoy having
the Worm as part of [its] family."
No word yet on how seriously Rodman may be weighing
his option to become a music industry insider, as he
also has various TV and film offers on the table.
Snoop Dogg Joins Silkk The Shocker In No Limit Film
After appearing in such films as "Ride," "Caught,"
and "Half Baked," as well as in the straight-to-video
flicks "Da Game of Life" and "MP: Da Last Don," rapper
Snoop Dogg is now looking to add to his acting resume
with a part in the new No Limit film, "The Hot Boyz."
Snoop has been cast as C-Dogg, a close confidant to
the lead character, Kool, which will be played by
fellow No Limit rapper Silkk the Shocker. The film,
which was directed by Master P, also features
Mystikal, C-Murder, Clifton Powell, A.J. Powell, and Gary Busey.
No Limit Films President Jeff Clanagan described "Hot
Boyz" as a "cross between 'Boyz N the Hood' and 'Deep
Cover'" and said the picture would most likely start shooting in August.
In the film, Silkk's love interest is wrong fully
accused of murder by a corrupt cop, and Silkk is
forced to go undercover to help bust a drug kingpin in
exchange for his girlfriend's release.
"Hot Boyz" is expected to be released in August, the
same month Snoop says he might start work on another
film, "The Mack 2," presumably a sequel to the 1973Max Julien movie.
MC Hammer'a new album 'WarChest: Turn of the Century' is set to feature unreleased 2Pac collaborations as well as a remade version of 2Pac's 'Unconditional Love'. Hammer gave word that we should expect the 'same mix of booty-shaking' and 'spiritually reverent themes' he utilized on 'Please Hammer' and 1991's 'Too Legit to Quit', saying it's one for tha dance floor! MC Hammer hopes to release a track called "That's How I Feel" as the first single from the new album at the end of this month.
MIXED BUSINESS I've had a lotta peeps asking me if I'm down to set up a Mix Tapes section on my site, where y'all can choose from a list and make up your own music compilations. After a lill' thought I fiqured it was worth while so here it is! Click right here to check it out. There's currently around 250 released/unreleased Death Row & 2Pac related tracks to choose from, but ya know that numbers gonna keep rising! I've also added a Poster section to my recently updated Store section, which includes 2Pac, Snoop & Daz posters amongst others.
Suge was recently called by Power 106's 'Big Boyz Neighborhood' show, where he spoke up on some things. As well as saying he still gots luv for Snoop and Tha Dogg Pound, he voiced out on C-Murders cover of 2Pac's unreleased track 'When We Ride On Our Enemies'. To sum up he was pissed at Murder fo it an said 'C-Murder didn't even give Pac repspect' and 'datz a bitch move'! Suge was also surprised that Snoop joinned No Limit instead of continuing and expanding Doggstyle Records (which already had the first compilation completed at that time). Suge also said to watch out for the Row's newer, younger talents like Top Dogg, V.K an Tha Realest who have all got albums in the works. Don't forget bout Soopafly who's album 'Like It Or Not' is due fo June 15th!
Speaking of Suge I got hooked up wit' a contact addy fo him if anybody wants to hollar his way. It go a lill' somethin' like diss...

Going back to Power 106 again, I heard they played a heap of new Dogg Pound related tracks recently, including the tracks from Snoop's upcoming Top Dogg album, a track featuring Daz, and a new Soopafly track which was apparently dope! If anybody managed to record any of these hollar at me an maybe we can trade or somethin'?
In case you didn't hear it by now, the official Death Row Records page put out a clip of YGD'S Top Dogg Cindafella on RA and MP3 format. Remember you can check the full song over at the new and improved DRHQ site.
DOPE SHITBounce to DRHQ for Chronic 2000 sound samples! (major props out to 'em)

The Upcoming Albums page is back up and complete, along with an updated Inmates homepage.
I've also made some major updates to my Store where you can now buy magazines (such as 'The Source' and 'Vibe') and 2Pac/Death Row related videos.
Don't forget to peep the all new Discography section if you wanna view or buy any (or all) of the Death Row albums!
So down to the newz & soundz...
Check out this dope unreleased exclusive by Kurupt and Jewell entitled I Don't Bang No More Jewell takes a while to kick in but your sure to recognise the lyrics when she does! This tracks got a real old feel to it, with Kurupt puttin' it down DPG style over a funked out beat!

Click right here to peep the Chronic 2000 advert which recently appeared in Vibe and Blaze magazines. Even though its recent, its already inacurate as some major changes have been made to the album. DRHQ reports that Dr. Dre will NOT BE ON THE ALBUM at all, as he was dised kinda bad by other artists. 4 unreleased Dre tracks were planned, but I guess they'll stay locked up for a while longer now. Without Dre though, AND NOW SNOOP it's kinda hard to name this album 'The Chronic 2000' as their the doggz who made the Chronic in the first place! I wouldn't be surprised if the name gets changed again before its release. Take a trip to DRHQ to peep the new Chronic TL.

I contacted Death Row last week 4 some Album/Artist info, and here'z what I got;
Lil' Bow Wow and Hug are no longer on the label.
(I later found out that Bow Wow may soon be releaseing his debut 'Indie' styled album)
Sam Sneeds album will now NEVER be released under Death Row
The 'Long Beach Era' DOES NOT EXIST!!!
I wanted to ask more, but he wasn't out to give much up. He kept coming out with 'I can't tell you that' on the bigger issues which got kinda frustrating, but I'll hollar at them again in a lill' while.
Maybe y'all remember way back when Sam Sneed got beat on by most tha Death Row crew fo near no reason?!? Well check out the Blueberry Original to get another dose of dat. It has over 30 seconds of intro which was deliberatly cut from the final release, where Snoop gave it up fo Sneed (who produced the track). I don't know what the Row's beef was wit' Sneed, but it seemed real fucked up to me!
I wanna make a HUGE appology to everybody
who got caught up in 'The Long Beach Era' album lie, which was
sent to me by the P-Funk Master. If you were one of those who
thought it looked 'Too Good To Be True', well you were right! The
bitch ass PFM also sent me the Makaveli & Dillinger track
listing so I think we can safely say that was made up too. Don't
forget about Suge'z Revenge either! Dizamn deez bitchez!!!
