This is another sequel to episode 111 of Sailor Moon. *sweatdrop* I know that this is the fourth or fifth story I wrote about events that happened just after that episode, but it seems I can't help... ^_^; *********************************************************** The Only Important Thing *********************************************************** The woman was standing on the beach and staring at the ocean. Her red hair, once tied in pigtails, was now loose and wet, dripping water on her back. She looked at the full moon and shivered once, then she dropped herself on her knees and hid the face in her hands. Her arms were full of scratches and she was bleeding, but she didn't care. An helicopter passed in the sky. The young woman on the beach slowly rose her head and looked at its lights fading in the night. After a few second there was silence again, broken only by the waves of the ocean in front of her. And the moon was still high in the sky. The moon... A single tear went down her face, shining to the moonlight before falling into the sea. For a second she thought that the whole ocean seemed to be formed of tears, then she threw herself down on the sand and kept silently weeping until she fell asleep. The sun began to rise, coloring the ocean of orange with its beams. On the beach, Eudial weakly moved in the sleep. All her body was aching and the salty water was making her wounds to burn. "This means I'm still alive..." she thought and slowly opened her eyes. The first thing she noticed was a little shell laying in the sand a few inches far from her face. She thought that the color of the sand looked too yellow, too similar to the color of the moon. She made an attempt to raise herself, but she was feeling too weak, so she rolled on her back instead. She looked at the sky, which was switching from pink to a light blue as the sun was getting higher. The witch put a forearm on her eyes to shield them from the bright light of the sun and sighed. Now she could remember what happened the night before. She could remember it even too well. She had been defeated. Completely defeated and without hope of revenge. Of course that wasn't the first time she failed a mission because of the Sailor Senshi, but this time it was different. She had been near to victory, very near. But when she saw Sailor Moon, shining of moonlight, reflecting the attack of her Fire Buster, she understood that the battle was over. A few minutes after, while she was running away in her car, she found out that Mimet rigged the brakes and she fell down a cliff. She didn't get hurt in the crash, not very much. Only a few light wounds when the windows of the car shattered, allowing her to swim to the beach. The deep wound was in her soul. No matter she was one of the most genial and brave persons in Death Busters, in front of the quiet, serene smile of Sailor Moon and her terrible power, she felt scared like a five years old child. Eudial came back to reality with a shiver. She noticed that tide was rising and that water was lapping her back. It was cold. The sun was shining and it was summer, but everything looked cold to Eudial. For a moment she was tempted to let water to submerge her forever, then she forced herself to sit up. She bit her lip, trying to ignore the pain. After a few seconds, she felt better. She was feeling a little dizzy and her wounds and bruises were hurting, but she knew she could stand the pain. She thought to Mimet. Eudial smiled weakly. She didn't feel the need of revenge because she knew that the young witch would never be able to defeat the great power of Sailor Moon. Suddenly, the sun stopped looking too bright to her eyes. And the sand wasn't too yellow anymore. Everything was looking normal again. Eudial felt that in a few time she would be able to stand even the sight of the moon. The witch stood up. She touched her clothes and noticed they were wet. She shrugged. "They'll get dry." she thought. It wasn't important, the sun was warm now. Eudial laughed and walked away. She was alive and that was the only important thing.
