Without a doubt, Courteney has hit it big time with her role as the overbearing, bossy Monica on NBC's hit sitcom, "Friends." However, she has had some significant roles prior to this. She played Alex P. Keaton's psychologist girlfriend on the sitcom "Family Ties." She was also cast across Jim Carrey as the female lead, Melissa Robinson, in "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective." She had been seeing Michael Keaton for four years, but the relationship recently ended. Contrary to popular rumor, she is not involved with Christian Slater. Courteney was originally an advertising model for the prestigious Ford Agency in New York, and then appeared in an episode of "As the World Turns" in 1983. However, she was noticed by filmmakers in 1984 when Bruce Springsteen picked her out of the crowd in his video for "Dancing in the Dark." |
