Jonathan Jackson

"As his damaged older brother, Jonathan Jackson brings such confidence, maturity and self-possession that he seems to belong in another movie."
-- San Francisco Chronicle (on JJ's performance in The Deep End of the Ocean), 3/12/99
(Okay, so the guy who wrote this basically disses the movie w/ the "belong in another movie" line. But hey...it's all good, he LOVES JJ *bg*)

  • Did you know?: That Jonathan's was in a band called Scarlet Road, with his dad, uncle, and brother? Recently he and Richard formed Scarlet River, mainly a two-man show. You can currently find their music at the official website!

  • Fun fact: During his 4 year run as the son of Luke and Laura on General Hospital, quite possibly the most famous soap couple ever, Jonathan has been nominated a staggering six times for his role. It's amazing that he's won 3 out of those 6! He could have quite possibly been the most popular and successfull young actor in the history of soaps! (In my opinion, he SO is :))

  • WOW fact: If you've been under a rock for the past couple of months, you probably wouldn't have known that Mr. Jackson was one of the front runners to be the much older Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars Episodes 2 and 3. He was actually the top choice by people at this Entertainment Weekly poll. Even though he was the people's choice, JJ did not get the role. It actually went to Hayden Christensen, an equally talented (and might I add BEAUTIFUL...have you seen him? Damn...) Canadian unknown actor. The weird coincidence? Hayden played Orin, best friend to Jonathan's Max in "Trapped in a Purple Haze."

***My old issues of BOP and BB that I still have should be credited for some of the info. Also, the official Richard and Jonathan site for some, IMDB, and all those other cooky websites. And thanks to the SF Chronicle for our uplifting quote :)
