Scene: The Hospital
Dr. Turner is explaining Nick's recovery, aided by LaCroix' whammy.
Reese: Well, when can we talk to him?
In the background, LaCroix appears in medical scrubs.
Turner: He'll regain consciousness soon, and I'll release him.
Natalie sees LaCroix, and her eyes widen a bit, seemingly trying to remember him. LaCroix stops and smiles faintly at her, before walking away.
Scene: Nick's Loft
LaCroix and Nick are facing each other.
aCroix: If you don't believe me, why don't you go out and rediscover yourself... for yourself?
In the background, the lift ascends. Natalie walks in, with bags of food for Nick. Both men turn to her.
Natalie momentarily freezes and stares at LaCroix.
LaCroix: Good evening... Doctor Lambert, isn't it?
Natalie walks to the table, setting down the bags and removing her coat.
Nat: (calmly as possible) I know who you are.
LaCroix: How flattering. My reputation has preceeded me. (he moves forward)
Nick stares first at LaCroix, then at Nat.
Nat: Thank you- for covering up at the hospital.
LaCroix: (smiling) We made quite a good team, didn't we? It was really quite fun.
Nat: Was. (Looks away, then back) But now, I think you should leave him alone.
LaCroix: Whatever you say.
He moves 180 degrees around Nat, towards the lift. Another shot of a confused Nick.
LaCroix: I trust you will inform him of his special nature. And needs, in my absence.
Nick moves forward.
LaCroix: Perhaps not. Perhaps, you will use this opprotunity to accomplish the impossible. To 'redeem' him.
Nat is trembling slightly.
Nat: I think you'd better go. (LaCroix looks pointedly at the skylight) By the door (muttered to LaCroix, so Nick can't hear).
LaCroix looks at her cooly. Nat returns the stare. Another shot of the puzzled Nick.
LaCroix: Whatever you say, doctor. (he hands her the elegantly wrapped bottle of blood he has been carrying to Nick. Nat takes it.) Good luck. In your little quest. (to Nick) Get well soon, Nicholas. Come and see me when you can.
Another shot of Nick. LaCroix goes to the lift door, holds up a hand slightly, apparently about to say something. He stops and enters the lift.
Nat: (as the lift descends. She says this clearly relieved, but trying to lighten the mood) Whew!!!
Scene (why not?): Nick's bedroom.
Nick and Natalie are making passionate love. He's kissing her neck.
Nat: (whispered) Take me. Please. Bring me across. Please.
Nick is vamped out. He bites her, and she gasps.
Behind them, LaCroix is watching.
