Goal (long-term): To get down to a healthy weight and maintain it.
Goal (short-term): To lose five pounds by December 1.
What motivates you: A desire to be healthy. I don’t want to be that woman that the doctors tell to lose weight if she wants to have children. I just want to have them and be healthy enough to have the energy to try and keep up with them. (I’ve been on a baby kick lately. Can you tell?)
A short paragraph about yourself: I’m a graduate student (Special Education) and a part time teacher (Adult Education). I’m grossly underpaid and overworked. :) Not really, when I go into SPED that *will* be the reality.
I started on a health kick about a year and a half ago but lost steam. It was hard to be the only one trying and the only person I could lean on. Then in January of this year my friend and I started walking and eventually made our way to the weight room (in spite of the big scary football players). Now I try to walk one day, run two days, go to an aerobics class and a yoga class. I aim for working out five out of seven days.
Three things to take to a deserted island: An enormous CD collection, a huge library of books, and Greg. (Hey, I never said it had to be three *individual* items. I’m making up the rules as I go.)

Long-Term Goal: I would like to be toned and active. Not dieting all the time, but making healthy lifestyle and food choices.
Short-Term Goal: I want to keep on with walking places instead of driving, and with doing 30 mins of aerobics tape 3 times a week. I'm also restricting portions and treats because I still want to lose another 5 pounds.
Motivation: Being able to take part in whatever fun activity is going on - not having to bow out because I'm not physically up to it. Also being able to buy whatever styles I want to wear, and not being concerned about using my clothes to camouflage my flaws.
About Me: I am 27, married, and living in Edmonton, Alberta. I am a stay-at-home mom of 2 preschoolers. We've just moved, so we're trying to get used to new house, new city, new church, etc. I love reading, horseback riding, drama, and fresh bread (!).

A short paragraph about yourself: I'm 28 and married to a wonderful man for 4.5 years. We live on the Atlantic Coast so we spend lots of time boating and swimming and hiking at the shore. (depending on what the weather is like..I mean, NOW it’s too cold for must more than walking!) No kids, just one big furry, spoiled Siberian Husky who thinks she rules the house. Ok, who DOES rule the house. Oh yeah, and I'm a marketing guru (I'm lobbying to have my title changed) for a technology company.

I'm in my last year of law school (school will finally be over soon) and will be practicing corporate law in a large downtown law firm after I take the bar. Goal (long-term): Be healthy and able to wear the clothes I want to wear.
Goal (short-term): Make it through the holidays!
What motivates you: A lot of different things. I really want to be able to wear whatever clothes I want. Plus-sized clothes are typically so ugly. Why the clothing manufacturers think fat people have no taste in style is beyond me. My nieces motivate me. I'd like to be able to continue keeping up with them. And I'd like to stay healthy and live a long life.
A short paragraph about yourself: I'm 27, and a full-time graduate student studying behavior analysis. I have three Dalmatians and a cat. My youngest Dalmatian, Winnie, is deaf, and I'm training her in agility. I have two nieces that live nearby and are the center of my world. I spend lots of time with both of them.
Three things to take to a deserted island: All my animals, vegetable seeds and a chicken coop with lots of chickens (for food!), and lots and lots of books.
