Steve Lightle has worked on numerous DC titles, most notably "The Flash". Working with Roy Thomas at Crossplain Comics, he drew their Red Sonja. No successive issues have been released.

Frank Thorne

Thorne is, in my opinion, the Red Sonja artist. Taking the look from "Marvel Feature presents..." #1, he gave Red Sonja a very sensual look, and fiery appearance. Thorne left Marvel before the end of "Red Sonja: She-Devil with a Sword" to pursue comics for mature audiences. His new heroine "Ghita of Alizarr" at first appears to be a clone of Red Sonja, but is hardly the same outside of their sword arms. Thorne also produced the highly controversial "Iron Devil", the futuristic "Lann" and the humorous "Moonshine McJuggs". For more on Ghita of Alizarr, go to the Ghita section here.

Some of Thornes' work;
  • Perry Mason
  • Dr. Guy Bennett
  • Flash Gordon
  • Jungle Jim
  • Twilight Zone
  • Boris Karloff
  • Red Sonja (#1-#11) [1977-1979] main artist for Marvel series

  • Lann
  • Moonshine McJuggs
