In the Windtunnel
My friend Kathy and I were sitting in the Minskoff windtunnel the day after we saw the show and playing hangman (with Pimpernel quotes, of course!) to pass the time! It was about an hour before curtain, when we were going to see the show again, and a familiar face walked by. I stopped and glanced up to see who it was and it was none other than Mr. Sills himself, on his way to get dinner (we guessed). We both looked at our watches and thought, "Where's he going?! It's an HOUR before curtain! Shouldn't he be practicing the duel, or something!" But, off he went and a few minutes later came back around the corner with a bag in his hand and trampled back into the theatre!
It was very weird to see him in sweats, when we'd only seen him in cream-colored satin, etc. up until then! And, at the stage door the night before, he'd been looking nice in a button up shirt and a beige suede jacket! It threw us for a minute, but then we realized that this little sighting meant SO much more! It meant HE WAS THERE!!!! We'd get to see him play Percy ONE MORE TIME, before flying back to Utah at an ungodly hour the next morning! I could have kissed the cold cement ground right there in the tunnel! But, you'll be glad to know that I didn't!
