Katie Trexler 7NEWS Denver ANCHOR WEEKDAY MORNINGS 5 & 6 AM Katie joined the 7 NEWS team in March of 2000 as a 7NEWS Anchor and Weekday Reporter. Katie is a Denver native. She is glad to return home after several years of working around the country. Her first job was in Eureka, California. She then went on to KOB-TV in Albuquerque, New Mexico where she was a Weekend Anchor and Weekday Reporter. Most recently, she worked at WJBK-TV in Detroit as an Investigative Reporter. She won recognition for her work there with an Emmy Award and other awards from the Michigan Association of Broadcasters. Katie is a graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder, where she earned a double degree in Broadcast Journalism and Political Science. Katie says that after growing up watching news in the Denver area, she is honored to work in this market. In her spare time Katie likes to spend time outdoors hiking, running, and just escaping. She also enjoys reading, going to the movies, and spending time with her husband and family.
