Rant & Roar

"Now I don't want to get off on a rant here, but...." -Dennis Miller

Like everybody, there are quite a few things in this world which just annoy the hell out of me. I try not to voice these opinions for various reasons. I never want to hurt anyone's feelings, I appear bitter when I do, etc. Unfortunately, unless I voice my frustrations, they don't go away. The solution I've come up with, is this Rant & Roar section of my website. Every so often, I plan to vent my frustration, go on a rant and just plain roar about a certain topic that annoys me. I mean absolutely no offense to anyone in particular. This section is not an excuse for me to attack anyone. It's just me letting off some steam.

Topic: People Who Don't Wash Their Hands After Using the Bathroom

Ok, I really can't express how absolutely disgusted I am with people who don't wash their hands after using the bathroom. I see this happen WAY more often than I'd like to. Listen, this is NOT a very hard concept to grasp, nor is it very difficult to perform, either. Those sinks and soap dispensers aren't there for show. USE THEM!

Now, I realize that this might simply be an intelligence issue. It's not hard for a person to figure out how to urinate or take a dump (at least, it's not hard for MOST people). That's pretty much ingrained in us. Washing hands however might just be too complex and confusing for some people. There are the sinks with the knobs, the ones with the button you push down on, the ones with the sensor, etc. I'm sure there are people who try to activate the sensors on a knob sink, try to find a knob on a sensor sink, or try to figure out why they can't get the sink to flush.

Another problem is that sometimes those damn soap dispensers don't work. Now, while this leaves you with no choice but to go without washing your hands, at least CHECK to see if they work! I've seen far too many people walk into the bathroom, take a piss and then just leave without even walking over to the sink. What really baffles me, is that sometimes I see people wash their hands BEFORE using the toilet. People will walk into the bathroom, wash their hands, then take a piss, then leave. I must say I'm not quite sure I understand the reasoning behind this. You want your hands to be clean for the toilet? That's... creepy. These people are half-way there though. They've got the right actions, just in the wrong order.

Let's go over this to make sure everyone is clear. After sending your dumpagram to commander septic, you should...

1. Walk over to the sink.

2. Turn sink on.

3. Apply soap to hands with soap dispenser.

4. Put hands under running water.

Congratulations! You've just washed your hands! Now grasshopper, take this knowledge and use it well! For ALL our sakes!

I feel much better now that I've vented.
