Amazed Bee Gees Reveal: Our Brother Andy's Ghost Sings With UsThe singers have had eerie encounters with Andy's ghost in America and overseas --- and his brother Barry recently declared: "If I went down to the cemetery, I don't think I would find Andy in his coffin."
Andy, who became a top singer on his own, died of a heart attack 15 months ago at the age of 30. Near the end he was miserable, devastated over losing his biggest love, Victoria Principal, and was drinking heavily, insiders say.
The Bee Gees are convinced that Andy's spirit has returned to let them know he's found peace and happiness on the other side.
The group --- Barry, 42, and twin brothers Robin and Maurice, 39 --- have disclosed that Andy's ghost:
*Materialized at the bedside of Barry's wife in the couple's Florida home and kissed her on the cheek.
*Showed up that same night at the California home of his mom -- and kissed her, too.
*Frequently appears in the audience at Bee Gees concerts -- and inspires them to give the best performances of their lives.Andy is buried in Los Angeles. But his brother Barry recently declared: "I definitely feel Andy is in my home in Miami. That is where he wants to be. "One night he appeared at my wife's bedside. She saw him clearly.
"Our son, Travis was restless and had come into our bed, which made it rather too crowded. I had trouble getting to sleep so I went off to lie down in another room. "My wife Linda told me later that she was awakened by Andy, who was standing by the bed. He had stubble on his face and he bent and kissed her on the cheek.
"Then he evaporated into thin air. Linda told me later she wasn't frightened because Andy seemed so calm and peaceful. I knew then that he was happy.
"Next day, Linda was talking to my mom on the phone and Mom said exactly the same thing had happened to her. It was uncanny."
Those eerie events happened last summer, says a family friend. And recently, Andy's older brother Maurice confirmed that he also had a chilling experience. "One day I was barbecuing in our garden, which is where Andy used to love hanging out," said Maurice. "Suddenly, I heard Andy's voice asking me: 'How are you doing, buddy?' It was his favorite expression and one that he used when everything was going well."
The Bee Gees, currently on a 12 country concert tour that began in Germany in early May, are convinced that Andy is with them every step of the way.
Maurice told a close family friend: "My brothers and I have all seen Andy's ghost during our shows - and his spirit has been an incredible inspiration to us. We'll be singing and all of a sudden, in the middle of the packed audience, I'll see Andy's smiling face. He looks great, just like he did during the best days of his life before his troubles overtook him.
"He's there clapping, inspiring us to give the audience a great performance. As I watch him, I can see him mouthing the words to our songs. Sometimes I can even hear his voice harmonizing with ours. I know it sounds ridiculous, but it's true!
"When I see and hear him, tears well up in my eyes and I sing like I've never sung before. Then I'll take my eyes off him for a moment and he'll be gone. Andy doesn't appear at every show, but he appears enough to keep us inspired."
Said the family friend: "Robin and Barry also have told me that Andy's spirit often is present in the audience. And the say they sometimes hear his voice harmonizing with their own."
Confided a family insider: "The whole Gibb family has felt terrible guilt for not being able to help Andy with his problems. They'd seen him suffer through alcoholism, drug addiction and his loss of 'Dallas' star Victoria Principal. He looked old when he was still young, he never laughed or seemed to enjoy life. It tore the family to shreds. But his appearance has brought them peace."
The Bee Gees mother told the family friend: "Losing a son is the worst possible thing that can happen to a mother, but my grief has been lightened by the appearance of Andy at my home. "I never thought I'd feel his warm kiss on my face again. The whole family feels relieved, content and happy to have Andy back with them.
"They thought they'd lost him forever...but now they know you can never really lose someone you love so much."
