Mr Schrichte,
I voted in Boulder County at about 3:45 this afternoon.
Unlike nearly every election I have voted in in my life, I actually had to wait
in line to vote in the middle of the day. The election judges told me that
nearly 500 people have already voted today, in Boulder County alone. With
the busiest hours still to come, the voter turnout looks to be phenomenal.
I would like to thank you for taking the time to be
loud. For bringing issues to the attention of the town, and keeping them
there. For making sure the rest of us get a say in the future of our town,
instead of letting the few trustees make whatever deals with developers that
they want to.
I feel that without your goading, not nearly as many people
would be out voting today. For that matter, I'm not sure we would have had
the chance to vote.
While I might not agree with every point you have made in the
last few years, I am very glad there is a person who is willing to speak out on
growth issues. Since I grew up in Old Town Louisville, at a time when the
total population of Louisville was half of the current population of Erie, I
remember the days when all you saw around here were open fields. There was
not a stoplight in Louisville when I was growing up, and many intersections in
town did not even have stop signs. While Louisville has changed beyond
recognition, I still have hopes of raising my kids in a small town where crime
and traffic are non-existent, and people all know each other.
Thank you again for being willing to make people think.
Good luck with the results today.
Yours truly,
B.A.
