Through The Abyss
The tornados rage and the thunderstorms roar
in the chaos of my mind. The black emptiness engulfs the light and leaves me cold and
vulnerable. Alone and helplessly naked in this vastness. I'm falling.
My arms fly out, trying to find something to hold on to, all I find is despair.
Turning and falling through the abyss, reaching out to laughing faces. The masks now gone,
love and friendship now transparent.
The pain in my chest is throbbing, my head is going to explode.
Where is god? Why am I being tortured? Who is playing this screwed up game with my life?
A friend. I am reaching out to you. I can't heal your wounds, but I offer you my love and
shelter from the storms.
I will shield you, my brother, my friend.
I can quiet the storms and let the light break through. Take my hand, I will catch you. I
wear no masks, I am real, I am true, I am reaching out to you.
