Working working working. AND I GOT A NEW BIKE. its gorgeous. This old school cruiser, its green and brown with blue sparkly handles. Unfortunately the brakes failed, but I brought it back to Al, the friendly neighbor who built it for me. He like fixing bikes, so he runs this system where you just have to pay for any new parts that go into a bike, and agree to return it to him if it needs fixing, or when you move away or get a new bike. So he's building bikes for the two of us, and we can ride around town. I'm digging the walking, half an hour in to town at least once a day, but the bikes make it so much fun. For anyone who doesn't know halifax it should be informed that Halifax is built on the side of a hill. Like most good cities built on hillsides (San Francisco, Paris, Halifax...) Going one way is always more enjoyable, especially on bikes. But in Halifax there's another road that you can take and almost entirely avoid having to go uphill. It makes the ride a little longer, which I may decide against once it gets more freezing the lungs cold, but for now I dig the long flat route. I kind of wonder if anyone ever looks on here anymore, so if you do please email me. just to say- HEY I STILL LOOK AT THIS!... Here's a visual of my new home..

gettin in to life in halifax. Got this gorgeous apartment with my girl and we're gettin all the details of life in a new city worked out. We both found work really easy and I will be cooking at a Mediterainian Restaurant in downtown Hali right on Barrington st. Who know what else will come to me, but for now, I am also keeping busy with the standard, reading, writing, cooking, eating, a little drawing and a little lovin and lots of exploring. I will be tutoring at the library and looking to get into some queer activism stuff as well as involving myself with the Halifax Scavenger Society. They put on a junk jam last weekend and we went mad on old lawnmowers, washing machines, car parts and other rejects of consumerism. We put all the suff together, and jammed on it for a couple hours, and it was recorded too. Thats one recording I'd like to get my hands on as well as the recording of the radio show I was on doing spoken word in Ottawa. John Akpata hosts a weekly spoken word show on the UOttawa station so had me on while I was there. Have don't one open mic since being in town and hopefully I can get involved in promoting the start up of a slam out here. All good things come together, and this one is coming together quite well. I've got a new phone #, and address but you can email me for that information. tallhatgirlREMOVE@THISyahoo.com
