Ben lay in bed, the covers pulled up to his shoulders, watching the snow fall outside the window.
He was lying on his side and his front felt slightly chilled. His back, however, was nice and warm; due to the fact that Ray was lying pressed up against it, his arms wrapped around Benny's waist.
Ben gave a small, contented sigh as he watched the snowflakes continue their slow hypnotic pattern.
"Benny?"
"Yes?"
"You okay?"
"Of course," Ben said in surprise. "Why wouldn't I be?"
"Well, it's snowing."
Ben's confusion grew. "I love snow, Ray. You know that."
"Yeah," Ray answered, "but you're used to the snow in Canada." He brushed a light kiss against Ben's temple. "I know you sometimes get homesick when it snows."
Ben shook his head, smiling. "No, Ray. I'm fine." A snowflake hit the window and slid down the pane of glass, melting as it went.
"Yeah Benny. So you say. But watching the snow here..." Ray waved his arm to indicate the cracked window and the dingy building just beyond. "It's not like watching the snow fall back home, is it?"
Ben leaned more closely against the warm body next to his, pulling Ray's arms more tightly around him. "No Ray. This is nothing like watching the snow in the Territories."
Turning his head, Benny gave Ray a kiss.
