Basic Vegetarian Information

Those are the types of Vegetarianisms. I suggest started off small, as a semi-veg and working your way up the line, as I have done.

So what's the big deal anyway?

The big deal is that, plain and simply when you eat an animal, you are eating the flesh of a once living, breathing, beautiful creature that was murdered for your benefit. I, for one, cannot stand the thought of something being caused pain or suffering for my pleasure. It's utterly DISGUSTING what slaughters do to these animals! In the coming days I'll be displaying links and articles to places you can go to read accounts of these malicious acts. I'm sooo sick of hearing people say "why do you care so much? It's not like it's causing you pain, besides the animal doesn't feel anything." My reply? Doesn't feel anything? Yeah right, how about I butcher you and then you can tell me you didn't feel a thing. Another "winning" statement: "They ate meat in the bible, Jesus ate meat." Well, first off, I'm not sure I believe in Jesus (for the record, I do believe in God, just not necessarily the God the religions believe in) and hello...that was 2,000 years ago! They really didn't have a choice, they did what they had to. Why should we eat like they did 2,000 years ago, we don't live like that anymore. One last statement: "Oh great, are you going to be an animal rights activist and blow up buildings and kill people for eating meat?" My reply: I already AM and animal rights activist and member of PETA and that crap about all veg's blowing up building and hating meat-eaters, is just that: CRAP. I DO NOT hate meat eaters! Most of my best friends and friends eat meat, but I do think, however, they are wrong.

So what can I do?

    You can:

  • Stop eating meat
  • Refuse to dissect animals in your Biology and other classes
  • Tell other people about being a vegetarian
  • Make a website or page off of your site dedicated to veg-ism to get the word out
  • Squelch rumors about vegetarians that you know are not true
  • Don't give up
  • Most importantly: Stick up for yourself and what you believe reguardless of what others say, think or do.
