Summary: Four 12 year old boys set off on an adventure to become heroes by finding the body of a boy their own age, but end up finding out more about themselves than anyone.
Characters: River Phoenix is Chris Chambers, a kid from the wrong side of the tracks, "just one of those no good Chambers' kids." Chris is the leader of the "gang." His best friend, Gordy LeChance is played by Wil Wheaton (Toy Soldiers). Gordy's brother, Denny just died a year before. Denny was Gordy's parents pride and joy, so Gordy feels he's not wanted. Vern Tessio is played by Jerry O'Conell (Scream, Sliders). He's the kid they all tease constantly. He's a momma's boy and scared a lot. The last boy, Teddy DuChamp, is played by Corey Feldman (star of all those forgettable Corey and Corey '80's flicks). Teddy is the crazy one of the group. Chris sums it up best when he says, "he won't live to be 20 I bet."
Kiefer Sutherland stars as Ace Merrill, the leader of a gang of older boys who also want to find the body. Chris' brother, Eyeball and Vern's brother are also in this gang.
