My grandpa is retired from General Motors, and he gets a sizeable discount on new cars. A (smaller) discount also passes down to his children and grandchildren; it's not a lot, but enough to cover taxes and stuff. Also, my family has been very good to Mindy, the salesperson, this year. My grandpa buys a new car about every 20,000 miles, and he has bought one this year. My parents also bought both a car AND van from her this year. My mom suggested we talk to her and find out what kind of deal Mindy could get us. Without much hope that she would get us a brand-new car for $10,000 dollars, we agreed to look.
