The Storm Riders
The blockbuster movie The Storm Riders, an adaptation of the best-selling comicbook Fung Wan, did the the comics world proud with its stunning silver screen debut in 1998. The computer graphics and visual effects in the movie alone costs HK$ 15.5 million and is among the most state-of-the-art in Hong Kong films. The Storm Riders was directed by Andrew Lau and opened in Hong Kong cinemas on 17 July 1998.

The Storm Riders swept four awards at the 18th Hong Kong Film Awards (Hong Kong counterpart to the Academy Awards), including Best Editing, Best Costume & Make-up Design, Best Original Film Score and Best Sound Design.

Although the movie was really cool, I am a bit dissapointed by the way they changed the storyline from the comicbook just to crammed everything into a movie that is only two hours long. There was also little space for character development. However, I really like the computer graphics and visual effects in the movie.

Overall, The Storm Riders is a must watch for all Fung Wan comicbook fans.
