Installation of Linux

 

Its a mistake to think that u need boot partition for ur Linux to boot with/without dual boot.

case 1:    U have already got an OS on ur system

Fine if u have any OS.

case a: U have a free space of 5GB u can just boot ur system with the Red Hat cd and follow the step when u face disk druid for partitioning edit and

allot a space equal to twice the system ram u have.

say for 256 mb ram u allocate 512 mb space and thats for ur swap so select format partition as swap.

then rest of the space u can allot to root partition and select format as ext3fs this is the easiest way to install it

select either grub or lilo as the bootloader
