Standing on the platform, eyes closed and trusting, the wand swirls behind her. She says her heart’s desire, clinking her ruby red heels three times, her blue ankle socks suddenly sweaty. The peoples mummering lessens and she feels a pull. Her resolve strong, she clenches her dog while he barks. Behind her, the room sways sickenly, and people gasp. She tightens her eyes, becoming slightly nauseous, but stands. Her recent memories whirl behind her eyelids. Emotions quake and spin, she remains steadfast fighting to get back . . .
