Once upon a time there was a Mountie with a tunic of red serge, which suited him so well that he became known as Big Red. On the trail of the killers of his father, he and his deaf half-wolf companion had ventured out of the woods and into the city where they met a pasta-loving, silk-wearing sleek blind fox. After the killers were caught, Big Red stayed in the city and worked with his new friend, the Duck Boys and the Gruff Bear. He lived simply and was content with the mere crumbs the fox granted him.

Sometimes, Big Red would return to the woods but would always hurry back to the city and Blind Fox. But one time, after his return, there was a strange scruffy wolf in Blind Fox’s den…and everyone called the wolf by his friend’s name. Big Red knew that the strange wolf didn’t look, sound, dress, smell, or act like his friend though he did seem to be just as blind. But Big Red didn’t know that Scruffy Wolf was crafty; he wore glasses and wasn’t blinded by red serge.
