Poem about doing my first painting of Bobby (1970)

It wasn't talent that guided my hand to this,
But love, in all her splendor and bliss,
Took over my mind in a furious whirl,
My brain went to work, saying, "Come on girl,
A painting on paper, made six feet tall,
A picture of Bobby to hang on the wall!"
But love stepped in and said, "Dear me!
I've plans for this painting! Wait and see!"

To me, he is...

When no one else was there,
Bobby you'd always care.
Bobby I'll always be faithful,
because dreams burn in hearts forever.
TIME will separate our lives, if God wills it so,
but I'll still care and I'll love you forever.
There's no way to end this little rhyme
because love will never stop and poetry won't die.

Bobby is LOVE

There's nothing worldly can compare,
My love for you is everywhere,
My heart, my mind, my soul, my all,
Into your loving arms would fall.
One kiss, I know, would drive me wild,
I'd prove to you I am no child!

In everything I do or say,
My love, you're there in a special way.

Pictures, hanging on my walls,
My heart cries out, to you it calls:

"Come, come! My love, I am here,
I'll chase away your every fear,
Now, hold me close, I'm only yours,
Such bliss as ours will end all wars."

"I'm yours! Oh, Heaven has come down!
How do I look in a wedding gown?"

Blue Eyes

His eyes were like the sky,
Blue and protective,
lit by stars,
and moonlight,
warm and tender, like sunshine,
But like the California sky,
When it rains,
it pours.

I need you, my darling--

Your warmth, your charm, your gentle ways,
Into your eyes I want to gaze,
To hold your hand and walk with you,
Beneath a velvetty sky of blue,
My dreams, they flow, like an endless stream,
Or a star, in space's golden gleam,
To see your face or touch your hair,
To hear you tell me that you care...
A Heaven on Earth, this world would be,
If these my dreams I could only see.

Dearest Bobby, (this poem ran along the side of the painting of Bobby and me.)

Look deep within these eyes of mine,
And there within them you will find,
no hidden lies but openness,
and love is there, I must confess.
My soul is there, within your reach,
But there's a wall I can not breach,
A wall made out of fans and fame,
And girls who want to share your name.
I love you Bobby, and it grows each day,
I've reached out, but what can I say?
I need your touch, your sunshine smile,
But I've had faith for more than a while,
That you'd answer me with even a note,
On air for years I would float.
I send you gifts and things galore,
I send my love and ask no more-
Than one small answer in letter or sight,
That would warm my heart, through the darkest night,
I know you're busy, you travel about,
Please come to Portland, I know we'd shout:
"Hurrah, for Bobby, he's number one!
We know our Bobby is surpassed by none!"
You'd have a super, duper time!
I wish this on all stars that shine:
That somehow you'd reach out to me.
This is my heart's fondest plea.

Addressed to Bobby Sherman

I'm definitely in love with you,
I've never been more sincere,
I once was in love with someone else
And that boy was a dear,

But he was untrue to me
And hurt me till I cried,
He broke my heart so many times
I thought that I would die.

But now that I'm in love again,
I'm happy as can be,
I plan to prove my love for you
I'll give my heart, you'll see.

I wish you could return my love,
But impossible as it may seem,
I promise to love you as a fan,
And, I can always dream...

Bobby

Your tender glances filled with love,
Your gentleness from heavn above,
A physical perfection, only yours,
Your love of peace and hate of wars,
A smile that says, "I'm your friend,"
A faithfulness that'll never end,
The honesty and truth that's there,
You should know, it's only fair,
You are my dream guy,
The one I love,
God only knows,
In the "Here above,"
A love like this can never die,
As long as love lives I'll dream and sigh,
Of a day in the future, so far away,
I'll meet you Bobby--somehow, someday.

Dear Bobby,

If the chains that bind my heart to yours,
Could bind your love to me,
This world of sorrow, pain, and strife,
A heaven on Earth would be.

Bobby--I need you!

These arms want to hold you in their warm embrace,
These hands want to touch your hair and your face,
These eyes want to behold yours of blue,
Can't you see, my darling, how much I love you?
These lips would be yours in the love that we'd share,
My hopeful, sad heart is already yours,
When thinking or dreaming of you my pulse soars!
I need you, my darling, so please listen to me,
Only give me one chance,'cause that's all I need,
To make it or not, but we'll never know
If a love like this could ever grow,
Unless you give me one chance, then we will see,
If I'm meant for you, and you're right for me.

Prophesy(little did I know I would wait for nearly 30 years!)

An answer, a concert, is on its way,
I wait for the chance of this one day.
He's special, he's loving, gentle and kind,
The thought of him kissing me blows my mind!
I can, I must, I will, I'll try
To make "Hello" our last goodbye--
I mean we'll part once and no more
'Cause we'll share a love forevermore.

...A kiss to me he doth bestow...
My love is huge! And much, much more.

The Kiss

One tender moment in your arms,
An enchanted moment, filled by your charms,
Your warm, strong arms embracing me,
I close my eyes so I can see--
A magic land just filled with you,
Of sunshine, fields, and skies of blue,
I open them and hold you tight,
Together, we'll make it through the darkest night,
You'll hold my hand and I'll be there,
And every secret we will share,
Bobby, you're the man I love,
God must have sent you from heaven above,
And if He did, and if He'll bless
This love we share, we'll have no less
than eternal love and happiness.
