My former friends', who is now my friend again, next door neighbor, knew someone that went to college in Maryland, I think, and they heard of the missing kids, while there. They found out where the woods were thought to be and told my friend. We thought it was just a joke and they were trying to fool us, but we went any way. It was on August 1, 1999, when we went into the woods. We never realized the danger we were in! We came prepared, with a map and a compass. My friend knows the woods, and how to read a map, so we didn't have any trouble finding the old house where we were told to look. That is when the terror began! We saw the house, and we were certain it was the REAL house, but we couldn't get in because it was locked. Then we thought we saw the rock piles. Now here comes the scary part! As we walked closer to examine them, we heard a strange noise. We looked at each other and took off running! We knew it had to be the "Blair Witch!" Before we went into the woods, we discussed what we would do if the "Blair Witch" was real. We knew the "Blair Witch" didn't like the eyes staring, so we didn't look, we just ran! That was when my friend lost his shoe. We didn't go back for it, and we never will! We ran until we found the stream and followed it for a long time. Even though we had a map and the compass, we ended back where we started from. We were walking in circles! We were lost! The map wasn't any use, and the compass wasn't working! I felt we were under a spell of the "Blair Witch," and my friend agrees. Then it occurred to us, we had run away from the strange noises, and became lost. The "Witch" had wanted us to be here, in this spot, to spring some EVIL trap. My friend decided we need to go toward the noises, not away from them. That was the solution. It worked! We were soon in an area that looked familiar, the compass started reading correctly, and we found the car.
Do not try to find the woods or the house! You will not find them! It is no where close to where everyone thinks it is. That is a clue! We would not have found it, if we didn't have the location from my friends source. We will never go back there again, even if someone gave us a lot of money! We were lucky to escape with our lives! You will be in great danger if you search for it! Take my word for it, you may not be as lucky as we were!

We noticed there weren't any bugs or animals in the woods. No sound at all, except for the wind and the leaves. The only living creature we saw, was a housefly. My friend said it was a certain type of fly but I didn't understand at first but now I know it is commonly known as a "coffin fly!" He acted like it meant something important to him, at the time, and now I know why! The noise we heard, was something you wouldn't want to hear twice! That is when we knew it was time to run, if we wanted to live! We have never been this scared before, and we hope we never will be again! And if I didn't already say, my friend lost his shoe!
