Norman Rockwell will always have a place in my heart. In my opinion, one of the finest illustrators that ever lived. I'm particularly proud of this one, because its the most complicated watercolor I've ever done in my life. Joe Leyendecker once mentioned that roasted turkey is one of the most difficult thing to paint. Damn right. This is the actual size of the original. (We all know that in watercolors there is no additional white added, do we?) So, wherever you see white in this painting, it's the paper showing through. Now you figure. Four days of work. |
