These are the very first thumbs I did on the fax sheet while it was still hot and rolling out of the fax machine.. They look like they came straight from Leonardo's scrapbook. Speaking about Leo, I would suggest to every 3D artist out there to go over his "Trattato de la pittura". You don't have to read it in Italian, though, there are some pretty good translations in English. Everything you need to know about light is in there. (plus some other useful things) Because, O Painter, when you know light, you know all. Because without light there is nothing. No shapes. No color. No texture. No life.
