Lorenzo Lamas was born January 20, 1958, the son of movie stars Fernando Lamas and Arlene Dahl, and raised in the Pacific Palisades until his family moved to New York in 1968, where Lamas attended private school, graduating from Admiral Farragut Academy in 1975. He subsequently returned to California, and enrolled in Tony Barr's Film Actors Workshop. Following several motion picture appearances (including 'Grease' and 'Take Down'), Lamas moved onto daytime television with a role on the short-lived soap 'Secrets of Midland Heights'. Lamas hit the big time when he was cast in the pivotal role of Lance Cumson, grandson of Angela Channing played by Jane Wyman, on 'Falcon Crest' in 1981, and fought off the playboy image after several seasons spent pool-side with a bevvy of beauties. The character of Lance became more integral to the show as other actors departed. Lamas continued with the show until it's end, where his character eventually settled down with Pilar Ortega. Following Falcon Crest, Lamas continued with a string of martial-arts themed cult films, the most prominent being the 'Snake Eater' trilogy, 'Final Impact' and 'CIA Codename Alexa'. Lorenzo is experiencing great success with his USA network series 'Renegade' which is entering it's fourth season. Working with his wife at the time, Kathleen Kinmont, Lamas plays Reno Raines, a tough ex-cop who becomes a modern-day bounty hunter after being framed for a murder he didn't commit. Lorenzo serves as Executive Producer of the Stephen J. Cannell series and will once again wear the director's cap for several episodes this season. If Lance Cumson managed to shrug the play-boy label, Lamas embraced it, romancing a string of co-stars, including Ana-Alicia, Robin Greer, Daphne Ashbrooke, Kathleen Kinmont and Shauna Sand, not to mention Falcon Crest publicist, Michele Smith. Lamas married Sand in 1996 after his marriages to Michele Smith, Victoria Hilbert and Kathleen Kinmont ended in divorce. Lamas was introduced to Kinmont by his on-screen mother, Abby Dalton (Julia Cumson), who is Kathleen's mother. Skilled in martial arts, Lamas is also an avid motorcycle rider and has a collection of Harley Davidsons. In 1991, he formed his own "Ride for Life" charity motorcycle ride, which annually raises money for the World Children's Transplant Fund. Lamas divides his time between San Diego and Los Angeles with his wife, actress/ model Shauna Sand, who periodically guest-stars on the RENEGADE series.
