_ Resident Evil Timeframe

Are you confused with the continuity and time frames of the Resident Evil series? So was I, until I sat down and figured everything out ( sort of ). After 10 cans of Coke and countless hours of gameplay, here's what I got:

(Note that this is only a rough outline of crucial events.)


1. The first accident at the mansion lab occurs May 11,1998.

2. A missing hiker's mutilated body is discovered May 20.

3. Dog monsters first appear in mountain region on June 16.

4. Umbrella gives the word to Weasel Wesker to carry out the bogus mission to Raccoon Forest on July 22.

5. Bravo Team's helicopter crashes at the end of July. Rookie member Rebecca Chambers investigates a still train in Raccoon Forest. This is where Resident Evil Zero begins (the prequel).

6. One day after RE 0, the events of RE1 unfold.

7. The remaining STARS members fail to convince the RPD to investigate the disasterous Raccoon Forest case on August 8.

8. Upon learning of Umbrella's work on the new G-Virus, Chris Redfield takes off for the European HQ to investigate on August 24.

9. Newly-mutated zombies overrun the RPD and destroy all means of communication on September 26.

10. Police officers fail to barricade the station; the first 'Lickers' appear on September 27 (early morning).

11. September 28 (early evening), Raccoon City is overrun by zombies and Jill Valentine prepares to escape. This is when RE 3 begins.

12. On September 29 (shortly after midnight), the events of RE 2 unfold. In RE 3, you control Jill and Carlos in the same time period. Also, this is where the plot unfolds in Resident Evil Outbreak.

13. On September 30 (mid morning), RE 2 concludes and Leon, Claire & Sherry are far away and safe from Raccoon City.

14. On October 1st (early morning), RE 3 concludes. Jill, Carlos & Barry escape and Raccoon City is bombed to hell.

15. Resident Evil:Code Veronica takes place 3 months after RE 2, and stars Claire and Chris Redfield.

16. Some unknown time after RE 2 ends, Leon Kennedy has his adventure on the Starlight Cruise in Resident Evil Gaiden.

17. 6 years after Resident Evil 2 ends, Resident Evil 4 begins and stars Leon Kennedy (I'm guessing sometime in 2005).


So now I bet you're thinking, 'Yeah, But What About Brad?' Hmm. Good question. Let's see. At the start of RE 3, Brad was infected with the T-Virus. Before he mutated, however, he was killed by the Nemesis. After Jill finished her exploration of the RPD, she took off for the other side of town. This is when the virus took effect and revived Brad.

Also, this when RE 2 started. Therefore, by the time Leon or Claire got to the RPD, Brad-zombie was ready and waiting for either character to blow him away for good. That's how you know that RE 2 started shortly after RE 3 did. And if you're wondering, "Well, then, who left new items, took away the 2nd floor statues, repainted the painting and took away the barricades in the RPD?"

Just try not to think about it. ^_^;


Again, some of the crucial plot lines are missing here because I haven't played Code Veronica X, Survivor or Dead Aim yet. ^_^;
