_ Resident Evil
Released: March 15, 2002
Director: Paul W.S Anderson
Starring: Milla Jovovich, Michelle Rodriguez, Eric Mabius
A team of paramilitary commandos must battle flesh-eating undead, killer mutant dogs and a supercomputer's deadly defenses before an unleashed virus consumes humanity.
Good movie, plenty of scares and somewhat true to the first few games. We get to see the 'Hive', which is Umbrella's underground lab ... and the train! OMG, I thought that was sooo neat, it's the same train as in RE2!
*ahem* Where was I.....? The Licker is the main enemy near the end, as opposed to a Tyrant but hey, that's ok. I thought it was well made but it didn't make as much as hoped. Must've made enough though, cuz the second movie is on the way. Yaaaay! ^_^
_ Resident Evil: Apocalypse
Released: September 10, 2004
Director: Alexander Witt
Starring: Milla Jovovich, Sienna Guillory, Oded Fehr
The film begins where the first film left off, with Alice in the heart of the ravaged and deadly Raccoon City. She has been subjected to biogenetic experimentation by the Umbrella Corporation and become genetically altered, with super-human strengths, senses and dexterity. These skills, and more, will be needed if anyone is to remain alive.
Joining Alice is Jill Valentine (in RE 3 garb, too!), Carlos Oliviera and a bunch of others. They must survive and escape what is quickly becoming a City of the Dead. To reach their goal, they will need to battle their way through the relentless onslaught of the ravenous undead, as well as Umbrella forces and terrifying bioengineered weapons, the most deadly of which is the colossal, heavily armed assassin, Nemesis.
I went to see it with high expectations and I wasn't disappointed. The only thing that kinda bugged me was how it didn't stay entirely true to the games. Alice taking on the Nemesis in a street fight? Hmmm... Other than that, I thought it was well made and am lovin my copy of the DVD I got for Christmas. :)
