To Whom It May Concern:
I recently came across your job posting for the position of “Monitoring application - Team Member”. My background is in Electrical Engineering. I have 5+ years of industry experience, four of which are with the current company whom I work for. Further, I have recently completed my Masters of Electrical Engineering from Wayne State University in Detroit Michigan.
During my last four years, I spent two years in Research & Development, 1 year in Systems support and am currently working in Applications Engineering. Previous to these 4 years, I worked as a junior engineer over a period of 4 years for Ford Motor Company. During my position with FORD Motor Company, I dealt with ANS, MMS, and MMS Reports for the engine plan departments. I created and setup weekly POSMON macro summary colored charts as requested and interfaced with databases such as MS Access and Oracle (7 and 9i). I also dealt with TEM, VAX operating system (printer queues mostly for this OS). I setup and installed PCs for plant floor machines (MMI PC's) and ran the first Plant Floor Wireless solution tryout / prototype (laptop) at our plant. While dealing with customer support (plant floor customers, engineers, management and supervisors) I taught HTML to some users as requested and maintained the Plant’s WEB Server. Thus I am also very familiar with IP and server communications (previously used PCAnywhere, Telnet, etc). I am also familiar with SQL and several programming languages such as HTML, DHTML, XML, Java, JavaScript, Visual C++, ASP, and Visual Basic .NET.
I have great personal skills and have always worked well with others. I have experience working in a plant floor environment and I am great at debugging and troubleshooting hardware and software. I currently speak English and Portuguese fluently and am partially fluent in Spanish and French. I am known to think outside the box in many occasions and am currently the author of 3 US Patents with another one pending approval later this year. I am also a continuous learner and have taken additional courses such as: “Design for Manufacturability”, “Design of Experiments”, “Teams & Leadership Skills”, “Process FMEA”, “ISO/TS16949 Awareness”, “Negotiation Skills”, “APQP”, and many others.
I look forward to speaking with you regarding this position or any others that are of similar roles. My home phone number is (519) 969 8170 and my email is Sergio@paulodesigns.com.
Respectfully,
Sergio Paulo
