Luke
Luke Skywalker was once an innocent (and kind of pathetic) guy living with his aunt and uncle. When he and his uncle bought
two new droids, his life began to change. The droids were previously in the hands of the Rebellion against the Empire, and one carries
stolen plans of the Death Star, the Empire's ultimate weapon. When Luke returns home one day to find his aunt and uncle murdered by
Emperial Stormtroopers, he joins Obi-Wan Kenobi and trains as a Jedi Knight as he fights for the Rebels. The Empire has a new enemy.
Princess Leia Organa is high in the ranks of the Rebellion against the Empire. When her ship is captured by the Empire, she hides the stolen plans for the Death Star (the Empirer's ultimate weapon) in the droid R2D2 with instruction to take the message to Obi-Wan Kenobi on Tattooine. Later, Luke Skywalker (who obtains possession of the droid), Obi Wan Kenobi, Han Solo, and Chewbacca rescue Leia. The company becomes a major leading force in the Rebellion. Luke eventually finds out that Leia is Luke's twin sister.
Captain Han Solo is the captain of the Millennium Falcon. He first becomes acquainted with Luke and Obi Wan when they hire him to take them to deliver the stolen plans of the Death Star to Princess Leia's father. Han soon becomes wrapped up in the Rebellion along with his companions (he's especially wrapped up with Leia, her "worshipfullness").
Chewbacca (or Chewie for short) is a wookie friend of Han Solo and is the first mate on the Millennium Falcon.
R2D2 is the droid to whom Leia gives her message containing a plea for Obi Wan Kenobi's help. He and his friend C3PO fall into the hands of Luke Skywalker, who consequently becomes involved in the Rebellion.
Obi Wan (or Ben) Kenobi is a Jedi Master who once taught Luke Skywalker's father. Ben begins teaching Luke the ways of the Force and sets him on the path to becomming a Jedi Knight. Ben is killed by Darth Vader, but comes back as a spirit with a lovely bluish aura about him to instruct Luke to go to the Degobah system and seek out Yoda, the Jedi Master who instructed him.
Master Yoda is an incredably awesome old guy! He's little, but the force is his ally, "and a powerful ally it is." He trains Luke Skywalker to be a Jedi Knight. For a lovely ode to Yoda, check out the song written at the bottom of this page.
Darth Vader, Luke's father, was once a Jedi Knight, but was seduced by the Dark Side of the Force. Now he serves the Emperor.
The Emperor is incredably powerful and also incredably evil. He and his faithful servant Darth Vader rule the galaxy by instilling fear into the people. I must say, he's pretty UGLY, and those are some nasty bolts coming from his fingertips.
