We stood there,
on railroad tracks and rocks,
awaiting the arrival,
of beauty, pure nature,
to rise up before us and break
the darkness.
To give all Earth meaning,
to give us security.
We battled a crazy road,
climbing through thorns and thickets,
Just to make it on time,
just for the rush of utter reality.
There we were, moments before the rising,
my head in his green, cotton, button-up chest,
his arms around me,
sincere, right.
Then it came,
that moment of truth,
it peeked above the Sierra,
like an enemy on its prey,
It seemed to linger forever there,
floating, gleaming, breathing light.
There were no words said,
no thoughts to think,
both of us stood,
mesmerized,
by an untouchable vision.
The peace in the air tasted new.
Corruption was still sleeping.
I took a deep breath,
as it slowly danced across the sky camouflaging itself within clouds…
