Mad Dog Murray was born in Chicago in 1950 as the fifth of nine children. Following a few run
ins with the law, the Boy Scouts and the Little League he turned to the profession of his brother, Brian
Doyle-Murray, in stand up comedy. Reknown for his improvisation in Chicago's Second City comedy troup, he
and his sibling soon moved to New York and began working on The National Lampoon Hour for radio. The two of
them also performed in the stage offshoot which was brought together by Ivan Reitman. Soon he was performing on the
unconnected-in-no-way-other-than-name Saturday Night Live with Howard Cosell. The SNL as we know it soon
followed with Murray replacing Chevy Chase as anchorman and, after a few best forgotten small film roles,
debuted properly in Reitman's Meatballs. The film was a huge success and fame, fortunes and funnyman status
came his way...
