MST3K Season 8 Extravaganza
Professor Bobo Observers Nanites
Mike vs. Joel(one MSTie's opinion)
MST3K Season 8 Extravaganza is an episode guide for the latest season of Mystery Science Theatre 3000. Our fav-o-rite movie mocking puppet shows has undergone some wacky changes this season. First of all the show has moved to everyone's fav station for UFO movies, bad horror flicks, and other assorted science fiction crapola, The SciFi Channel. The other major change is that Bill Corbett has taken over as Crow's voicer. While the other members of the Satellite of Love(SOL) were floating on the edge of the universe doing God-knows-what(although Tom Servo made references to a strip joint in episode 802) Crow was festering around the ship for a few centuries. Even though Crow's biting sarcasm and viracious wit still attack many underpaid actors of the 50's his voice has mysteriously changed....... The SOL is currently orbiting over the Earth in the year 2525, when monkeys rule the Earth and Mrs. Pearl Forrester, the Lawgiver, rules the apes. She is insistant in continuing her son's experiment of sending the SOL crew cheesy movies to watch. Some other fresh faces include Professor Bobo, who is Pearl's primate assistant, The Nanites, who are microscopic organisms that infest the satellite and are bent on world domination(meanwhile they help repair the ship), and The Observers, futuristic pale beings who carry their brains in a dish and appear in the later episodes. MOVIE SIGN!!!
- Episode 801-Revenge of the Ceature
Two scientists, one of whom is the oily John Agar, attempt to capture the "Gillman", who is better known as the Creature of the Black Lagoon. This episode is Bill Corbett's debut as the voice as Crow and he does a bang up job, after a small adjustment period you get used to his voice.
Watch For: A tributary to the Amazon, harassment of the mexican boat captain, and endless mockery of the clingy men's swimsuits
- Episode 802-The Leech Woman
A scientist dicovers the secret to eternal youth from an elderly African tribal woman. Things turn topsy-turvy when they discover that the Pinneal juice tapped from the neck of a freshly slaughtered man is the active ingredient in the youth-powder.
Watch For: The drunken wife, the stage set Africa jokes, NIEL! and Servo's interpretation of Granny Clampet: JEEEEEEED!
- Episode 803-The Mole People
John Agar returns in this poor excuse for a film. This group of archeologists decends to middle earth via a crack in the Earth's crust high atop an Asian mountain. Upon their capture by the mole people they proceed to fight their way out with the awesome fury of a flashlight to assist them.
Watch For: The stimulating repelling scene, the Load, and Alfred the Butler from the old Batman series as High Preist of the Mole People.
- Episode 804-The Deadly Mantis
A series of planes have crashed and been demolished in the Arctic. The only evidence is a giant claw found at the wreckge. Turns out to be the claw of a giant Mantis who flies his way to the states and wreaks havoc there. This is one pathetic movie.
Watch For: Mockery of the claw, endless ribbing of the elderly scientist, and "There's a Mantis in my pantis" (for Bill)
- Episode 805-The Thing that Couldn't Die
A water witch discovers a box while attempting to find a vein of water. The box contains a decapitated head that controls whoever looks into its eyes. That is the ENTIRE plot of the movie
Watch For: The bumbling oaf and the popular two-girls-in-one-bed scence
- Episode 806-The Undead
Another movie from the vault of Roger Corman. A hypnotist hires a hooker to be his guinea pig. She is put into a trance and assumes the life of a witch in the middle ages. The hypnotist joins her somehow and they narrowly avoid death. This movie makes no sense WHATSOEVER.
Watch For: The melodious gravedigger and the Imp (God, how I love the Imp).
- Episode 807-Terror from the Year 5000
Two scientist devise a machine that can grasp objects from the future(God only knows how). Another scientist joins them and with about 20 minutes left in this hell forsaken movie the "Terror" finally arrives and "Terrorizes" the group. Who comes up with this trash?
Watch For: The exhillerating car chase and the prolonged wait for the "Terror"
- Episode 808-The She Creature
This movie exemplifies why the show Mystery Science Theatre 3000 was created. The plot consists of a hypnotist referred to as "Dr." Lombardi. God only knows what medical school he graduated from. Anyway, he puts this girl in a deep trance to travel into her past lives.(much like 806-The Undead) He uses this process to call a so called She Creature from the sea to kill people. This movie should win the most-useless-scenes award.
Watch For: The pipe smoking scientist, SLEEP!, King the Dog, and The Art of No-Acting
- Episode 809-I Was a Teenage Werewolf
Michael Landon stars in this 50's horror flick. He plays a misguided teen named Tony. He is constantly getting in fights and such so he is sent to therapy. Little does he know the doctor is mad and is injecting him with a formula that reverses his evolution to make him a primitive werewolf. This is vintage crap.
Watch For: Milk Tosser, Suspiciously old "teenagers", Two Star Wars references, and Bonanza lyrics
