The Shining by Stephen King
-I'm only half way finished with this book, but lemme tell ya...if you thought the movie was scary...try the book. As is usual with Stephen King, there's about 8 adjectives for each noun, but also (as usual with King) it's very good. This book is about a young family who moves to Colorado for the winter to be caretakers of the Overlook Hotel. The hotel is very old and famous, but what they didn't count on was the hidden ghosts in the closets. Very strange things have happened, and only one person can see the truth about them, young Danny,a five year old boy.

books

Golden Surrender by Heather Graham
-Excellent book. She's fast becoming one of my favorite authors. I kinda read the series backwards,so...this is the story of the first 'Lord of the Wolves' and his less than loving bride.

Lord of the Wolves by Heather Graham
-Wars are raging in Ireland, and when it hits too close to home and Melisande's father is killed, she turns her hate to the Vikings. And worst of all,the man her father has chosen for her to marry...is a Viking.

books

The Wizard of Seattle by Kay Hooper
-This book struck a kind of...familiar chord in me... On several occasions making me cry... I really recommend this book. It's about a young girl who shows up on the doorstep of a Master wizard in Seattle, wanting to be his Apprentace... Not too long after, she finds herself falling in love with him, only she can't admit to him about this for fear he'll turn his back on her. Later she finds that his feelings are mutual...but a strict ancient law blocks any chance of anything happening...unless they go back in time and change the history that caused the law.

books

Perfect by Judith McNaught
-I borrowed this book from Chrissie a while back, but am just now putting it up here, and she was right,it was an excellent book! I seriously didn't want to put it down cuz I wanted to find out how it was going to turn out. It's the story of a young orphan who gets a second chance, and not just for a family. This is a real tear-jerker sometimes, but like I said,it's excellent.

books

Bride by Stella Cameron
-Also got this one from a friend. It's set in the time of ladies and castles, and Lady Justine is defying traditions and is planning to write a book, the only problem is,the book's for young brides, and Lady Justine's never been married. So she turns to the help of her brother's friend, and asks him to teach her about love. And turns out,he's a very good teacher...

The Orphans Series

Butterfly by V.C. Andrews
-I just finished reading this one and I thought it was pretty good. Not a regular V.C. Andrews book, but still good. I didn't really like the ending, but it had to be that way in order for the series to come together...

Crystal by V.C. Andrews
-Just finished reading it a few days ago. Very good...at the end of this book, the orphans are just beginning to start coming together.

Brooke by V.C. Andrews
-All she wanted was to have a mother who loved her,so when Pamela and her husband came along to adopt her,she thought that this was what she'd been waiting for all her life...until she discovered why Pamela wanted her.

Raven by V.C. Andrews
-Once again,I thought the book was too short, but still good. Raven's known bad times before, but they were nothing compared to what happens after her mother is thrown in jail again, and this time not for just overnight. Raven goes to live with her uncle, and finds out family secrets that leave her scared for her life.

Runaways by V.C. Andrews
-The four Orphans books finally come together in this climax book. Butterfly, Crystal, Brooke, and Raven join together as sisters and leave the dark foster home where they all first met to find a better life in California. Each has their own hopes and dreams of what they will find there, but as it turns out, getting there will be much harder than any of them had imagined.

books

There and Now by Linda Lael Miller
-This is the first one in a series. These 2 books aren't as long as books I usually read...but in some ways, they were better. They're based on a time-travel/romance theme. This book deals with a woman named Elizabeth who inherits a house, which she moves into. She remembers stories she was told as a child when she spent time at the house. She didn't think the stories were true,but...well...read the book.=)

Here and Then by Linda Lael Miller
-The sequel of There and Now deals with Elizabeth's cousin who returns to the house where she also grew up along with Elizabeth,to search for her missing cousin (read the first book, you'll understand). Excellent book as well.

books

Ruby by V.C. Andrews
-This is the very first V.C. Andrews book I read, and my favorite. I just finished reading it once again last night and it still made me cry and laugh. I know,I'm weird...shuddup.=Þ Hehe...anyways...this one's HIGHLY recommended. Check it out!

books

All Around the Town by Mary Higgins Clark
-I don't really remember what this book is all about...I remember how it ends though. It's a murder/mystery. Really good.

books

She Who Remembers by Linda Lay Shuler
-This series is about an young Indian woman,Kwani, who because of her blue eyes is thought to be a witch among her people. The title of this book is based on the title Kwani is given. "She Who Remembers" is a position anong the tribes. She must teach ancient secrets to the young girls of the tribe.

Voice of the Eagle by Linda Lay Shuler
-The sequel to She Who Remembers. Also an extremely good book. The next in this series just came out,so as soon as I read it...I'll tell ya what it's about.=)

books

The Cold One by Christopher Pike
-I read this a long time ago,but I remember that it was pretty good. Some of the details of it might spook kids,or even adults...but if you're into books like that, check this one out.

The Listeners by Christopher Pike
-Very,very good! An FBI agent goes under-cover as a reporter to investigate a group known for channeling an intity. The FBI thinks that the group is up to something, and when the agent gets there,he's in for a lot more than he thought. Especially when it comes to the twins. This book deals with a lot of different theories that are really cool. A lot of the theories have to do with the ancient Egyptians. Read the book and you'll see just how much... I really recommend this one!!
