The news--Study finds those with less education have more sex...
The view--Really? Well, this just in Frank...thanks for the confimation. Like anyone who didn't already think that will find this to be a revelation. If it isn't painfully evident that a lot of people who have large broods of kids are among the poorer element of society, it's time to wake up and take notes. This isn't an indictment, just a statement that takes into account the fact that if you're a High School graduate, working in some low-end job, your only means of entertainment might very well be a roll between the sheets with your significant other. The only people who might be surprised by this are people in college now. It just dawned on them that while they may be getting it on a semi-regular basis now, once they get their degree, the chances go down. It's enough to make one wanna quit now while they're ahead.
The news--60 year old British woman gives birth
The view--Why? What in the name of common sense would make this woman want to have a child at that age? It defies expanation...it's tough enough for someone half that age to muster the energy required to care for an infant...how does this woman think she's gonna be able to cope? And what about the child? Just when he gets to the point in his life where he will be ready to set out on his own, he'll be faced with the prospect of caring for his elderly parents, or worse, not having one or both of them there at all.
The news--Congressional leaders call for governmental regulation of human cloning procedures in the U.S.
The view--I guess that in Washington, smaller government means different things to different people. While Congress tries to get the Federal Government out of the lives of "ordinary Americans", it feels there is a place for it to get involved in aspects that are beyond the comprehension of most politicians. What happened to de-regulation? Why isn't it good enough to let "market forces" dictate whether this will work, just like in other areas which have been seized upon by the self-serving hacks that represent us?
The news--Is the Unabomber nuts, or crazy like a fox?
The view--Well, if he isn't nuts, then none of us are nuts, I suppose. He doesn't wanna be defended as a mentally incompetent boob, but he turns around and acts like one. He thinks he's not guilty, but of course, the only possible way he could be is to have been loonier than goose. The Feds want him to fry, his family thinks that wasn't part of the bargain and he tries a half hearted attempt at putting us out of his misery with a suicide try that made teenagers laugh at him.
The news--Chinese swimmer caught with human growth hormone in Australia
The view--Not the brightest of moves there, honey. Everyone and her brother already suspects that you're using something to enhance your performance and you know full well that there are drug tests being conducted on a level that only Ed Meese could appreciate, so, maybe you'll take the stuff with you anyway, just for giggles. And not just a little, no...enough to stoke up half of Australia. Sorry sunshine...I hear they have jobs killing chickens available, since your career as a world class swimmer is obviously finished. The really funny part of all of this is the haughty attitude taken by the American swimmers...they are getting their jollies by throwing it up in the faces of everyone, instead of letting well enough alone. It's not like no American has never taken illegal drugs, they should have enough grace to keep quiet.
That's about all for this time...there were other things that happened, but I'm tapped out for ideas at the moment.
