Tumble tot:
"I was 3 years old the first time I tried gymnastics. I remember being so excited about doing my first somersault."
Flipped out:
"When I was training for the '96 Olympics, I worked out for three hours in the morning, napped and went back to the gym another five hours. That was the only life I knew. I won't lie--it was very stressful and repetitive, but it paid off."
Balancing act:
"I try to do other things, like go dancing with my friends. I love wearing fitted clothing like tight jeans and little shirts."
Weight and see:
"Now my greatest challenge is accepting the fact that I've grown 5 inches and gained 20 pounds in the past year. I've heard tons of comments from people who say I'm over the hill, overweight, and mentally messed up because of everything that's happened to me. I'm going to prove everyone wrong."
Born to win:
"Winning the gold medal in the '96 Olympics was great, but winning the gold at the Goodwill Games was even better, because I did it despite what everyone was saying about me. I did it for me."
