June: Boyz II Men were on the Tony Awards show. They
sang "End of the Road," and pulled girls out of the
audience and danced with them while they sang.
August: Boyz II Men were interviewed on HBO News. Even though they did not write all of the songs on II, they feel the same way about them like the writer did. They do not think of sex in an explict way. Told the famous discovery story again, and now they just wanna be happy in life and make other people happy also.
August: Boyz II Men appear on Queen Latifah's Fox Special. Boyz II Men sang "Thank You" and "I'll Make Love to You." When Queen Latifah interviewed the fellas, she asked them how II was diferent from the very successful Cooleyhighharmony.
August: Boyz II Men appeared on Live at Five News in New York City. The Boyz were only interviewed, so they did not perform. They talked about hoping to be like the Rolling Stones by performing concerts in their 50's, how they got discovered, how great of a honor it was to sing with Stevie Wonder back in 1991, singing "National Anthem" for the Clintons since Chelsea Clinton is a big fan, they listen to a variety of music, sang "Yesterday" a cappella, and they would love to work with Take 6 one day.
August: Boyz II Men were interviewed by Bill Bellamy on MTV Jams at the MTV Beach House in California. They were mostly acting goofy the entire interview because they were with Bill, one of their friends. They talked about a MTV cartoon at the time, The Brothers Grunt (made funny noises along with that), talked about how "Yesterday" came about, "Yesterday" was actually supposed to be on a MTV Unplugged album, but that never happened, sang some of Aaron Hall's "I Miss You," sang some of Da Brat's "Funkdafied," they go a long way back with Da Brat, got mad at Bill for showing another clip from his Showtime special, and said he wasn't funny, they were of course just kidding.
August: At MTV's Beach House in California, Mike introduced the "I'll Make Love to You" video.
August: On Boyz II Men's second or third appearance on the Regis & Kathie Lee Show, Boyz II Men performed "Yesterday," and were interviewed. They talked about who their influences were when they were growing up, then they had mini-bios of each member. Shawn's said that he liked to dance and he was shy, Wanya liked to shop and was playful (they made fun of him about shopping), Mike plays pool and is quiet, and Nate listens to a variety of music (they were pronouncing Nate's name wrong on purpose). The interview then went on to how they got their start, and then they said II was coming out on August 30, 1994.
August: On Eyewitness News, they showed the II listening party in Los Angeles, California. They learned a lot from being in the industry and sang "Yesterday" a bit.
August: On BET's Screen Scene, they showed Boyz II Men's listening party for II. They showed the Boyz sing "Yesterday," and "Thank You" asked some people what they thought of II and they all loved it, and Boyz II Men were worried about what their fans would think of II.
August: Boyz II Men make another appearance on BET's Video Soul,
just a week before II was going to be
released. They talked about where they have been for a
while, how they got the title for the second album, what kind
of input they had on the album, what they do when not
performing, what the "I'll Make Love to You" video is
about, what they have gone through with managers, and sang
"Yesterday" and "Thank You."
September: At the MTV Video Music
Awards, Boyz II Men
sing their first smash hit off II, "I'll Make Love to
You."
September: VH1 showed Gladys Knight talking about why she wanted to do Boyz II Men's "End of the Road" and Boyz II Men were standing behind her looking happy! She said that she was in her car, and the song came on. She stopped to pay attention to it and had to have it on her album!
October: Boyz II Men appear on VH1's Naked Cafe. They
were playing pool at their listening party in August.
October: Boyz II Men appear on Saturday Night Live to
sing "I'll Make Love to You."
October: On Good Day LA, Boyz II Men were interviewed. They talked about when they first heard "I'll Make Love to You," and they recorded it right away after first hearing it. Then, the people at Good Day LA, had Boyz II Men fans ask the questions. Some of Boyz II Men's answers to the questions were: They did a lot of music at their high school, and everything combined really well, they were not friends though, now they are though, they are now comfortable with each other's style, friendship came after their vocals were perfect, they now each other's personalities to a T, Khalil taught them unity in the group, God blessed them with their talent, their lyrics are the actual way that they feel about women, if they don't "feel" a song, they will not sing it, they now love their jobs, they really respect their moms, and they are happy to know that people think their music is going to last. They also sang "Yesterday."
October: On BET's Video Soul, Donnie Simpson had another
intreview with the fellas. This time, they talked about
recording "On Bended Knee," how much they enjoy what they
are doing, why they know all of the stats to their singles
and album, they don't like the business aspect as much as
the creative process, vocal arranging with producers, Then
II Now (they pretended to do a commercial), and talked about
Biv10.
October: On MTV's 4th Annual Rock n' Jock B-Ball Jam, Nate (II) and Mike (21) were on the Violaters. Nate got 8 points and Mike only got 3 points. At halftime, all of the members of Boyz II Men sang, "Thank You." The Violaters ended up winning.
November: Boyz II Men appear on David Letterman. They sang "I'll Make Love to You."
November: Entertainment Tonight showed Boyz II Men getting ready to tour.
Nate said that the best dance they do is rocking there
heads back and forth.
November: Boyz II Men appear on Soul Train to lip synch "On Bended Knee" and "Thank You." The host, (the butler from the Fresh Prince of Bel Air), asked them a few questions. The introduced themselves, they had a lot pressure to make II, but the pressure was soon taken off of them when it got so successful, and they gave advice to people who want to break into the business.
November: Boyz II Men's first Australian TV appearance on Hey, Hey It's Saturday. Ian "Molly" Meldrum (Australian music guru) virtually praised them. They were presented with platinum awards for II. They sang "On Bended Knee" and "Silent Night." They looked very good in their matching akubras (even though Wanya sang the wrong line during "On Bended Knee"), but "Silent Night" was absolutely perfect! (Wanya knew it, too. He got this huge grin on his face as soon as they finished singing). (Thanks to Shannon!)
November: Boyz II Men lip synch "On Bended Knee" at a club on the
popular Fox show, New York Undercover.
November: On the John Larraquete Show, Boyz II Men make a cameo appearence as themselves. There tour bus broke down, and they wanted it fixed there, so this one guy said if you guys don't sing, your stuck here with us. So they lip synched "On Bended Knee."
November: On Melbourne News Channel 10 & Channel 7, they showed their Melbourne Central where over 20,000 people showed up. 5,000-6,000 people were only supposed to be there, so a mob scene was of course formed. Many girls were injured, but not too seriously. Also during the news stories, they showed Boyz II Men making a satellite link to the Australian Music Awards. They said they wished they could have made it (but they had a concert in Melbourne). Sang "I'll Make Love to You" a capella also.
November: MTV took Boyz II Men shopping in New York City. They went to four different stores, Phat Farm, Union, Na-Na, and Country Road Australian. Wanya bought a checkered hat that he wears in the "On Bended Knee" video, and Shawn bought a hat that he wore to the American Music Awards in 1995. On the streets, they sang "On Bended Knee," and "End of the Road."
December: Boyz II Men sang "On Bended Knee," and "End of the Road" with Gladys Knight at the Lou Rawls Parade of Stars.
