Three year Soul Train and Grammy winning artists Boyz
II Men will highlight the Budweiser Superfest Show at the
Georgia Dome on Saturday, June 24. The popular rhythm and
blues singing group is expected to turn out the dome with
their leading single "I'll Make Love to You" that has now
tied with Whitney Houston in sales and on the R&B
charts.
With a serious relationship, the four young singers
(ranging in age from 21 to 24) candidly talked about their
careers and stardom recently, sharing some intimate moments
about their music, the industry, and their lives. The
group goes back to 1988 when they were all in high school
in Philadelphia, with fond memories that take them back to
when they just enjoyed creating sound and harmony where it
seemed so simple and more like a hobby than work.
"It was more a hobby at first and now it's more like a
job; but we now try to mix the two," said lead spokesman
Shawn, who brought the name to the group. "Now that we are
excelling, we keep trying to do better and better."
And doing it better and better is what Boyz II Men are all
about...maturing nicely with their fame and glory and
enjoying their work with Motown Records and giving
something back to the community.
"We pray a lot and we enjoy what we do," added Nate, who
revealed that the group was also collaborating with some
rap groups for a little division and a new twist. However,
they were quick to add that they have no intentions to do
gangster rap, and one new song "Vibin'" has a lot of vocal
and musical arrangements, unlike most rap.
But it is the romance and harmony that makes Boyz II Men
unique and stand out. The name means longevity and growth,
describes Shawn, who says they are "forever striving and
changing" like manhood. Somehow, there is always one more
step before you are really there," he adds.
